No one else gives as much cover in this area.

What is the difference between Comprehensive and Third Party Fire & Theft Cover?

Third Party Fire & Theft Cover will cover the Theft/Fire damage cover to your own car and any damage to a third party. This can be damage to another car, passengers in another car, passengers in your own car, motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and third party property damage. Comprehensive cover is the cover as described above Plus Accidental Damage you do to your own car (caused by you or others), Vandalism and Malicious Damage.

What is an Excess?

An excess is the amount you contribute towards a claim. The excess amount is €200.

What is a No Claims Bonus?

A no claims bonus is a discount you earn for every year you are insured and do not make a claim on your policy.

Do I have a No Claims Bonus as a named driver?

If you have never had a policy in your own name, but have driving experience as a Named driver or on a company policy we should be able to give you an introductory no claims discount.

How much is a No Claims Bonus discount worth?

Each insurers discount varies. But generally for each year that you are claims free you can earn approximately a 10% discount. Insurers cap the no claims bonus discount earned; the caps vary between 5 years and 7 years.

What is a No Claims Bonus Protection?

With our Driving Examiner scheme you can have one unlimited claim, in a 3 year period, without having any affect on your no claims bonus.

What is Step Back Bonus Protection?

Step Back Bonus Protection means that following a second claim your earned no claims bonus discount is reduced or Stepped Back by 2 years - instead of a complete loss. If you have a 5 years No Claims Bonus, then following a claim your bonus of 5 years will be reduced by 2 years and you will be entitled to a 3 year No Claims Bonus discount at your next renewal.

What is Driving of Other Cars?

Driving of other cars is cover to drive someone else’s car, under your own insurance policy - it is your own policy that will be affected if a claim occurs and it only covers the policyholder. Our Driving Examiner scheme includes driving of other cars and cover is restricted to third party only. In simple terms this means that you are legally covered to drive the car and any damage you do to the car you are driving is not covered.
